Doctors

DR NASEEM KHAN

MBBS MRCP MRCGP, dip family planning

Dr Khan graduated in Pakistan. In November 1998 he moved to UK and started working for the NHS as a junior doctor at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. He then specialised in renal medicine at JCUH and Nottingham City Hospital. In 2003, he was accepted onto the Cleveland General Practice Vocational Training Scheme. He had part of his VTS training at Marsh house medical centre, Later on, he joined Marsh house as a partner in 2005. He is the lead practitioner for minor surgery and long acting reversible contraception. He is also a tutor for Foundation doctors at the surgery and a GP lead for the North East Renal Network. He is an appraiser. He enjoys different business ventures and is a director for Billingham Headway Limited and Billingham Health Limited. He lives locally with his wife and 2 young children. In his spare time He enjoys playing squash and cooking for his family.

DR PAWANJIT SINGH

MBBS MRCP MRCGP (2003-2012)

Having originally qualified as a doctor from University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1998, Dr Singh trained further in local hospitals and practices to become a GP. He joined the practice in 2006 where one of his roles includes being responsible for training of GP registrars (General Practitioners to be). He lives locally in Billingham. He also works as an Appraiser of other local GPs. His interests include golf and NUFC.

DR JUDITH DONKIN

MBChB (Hons) MRCGP (2004-2006) Masters MedEd (2015)

Dr Donkin started her NHS career as a qualified nurse. She returned to studies and attended medical school in the early 1990s and graduated from Leicester University in 1999. She returned to the north east and completed the Cleveland GP Vocational Training Scheme. She joined Marsh House Medical Practice in 2005 having worked briefly in Darlington. Her clinical interests include sexual health and palliative care. She leads the undergraduate training in the practice co-ordinating teaching for 3rd, 4th and 5th year medical students and is the practice lead for Billingham and Norton Primary Care Network. Dr Donkin lives locally with her family. She tries to keep fit and enjoys running and cycling.

DR SANGEETA PEDDINTI

MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Peddinti did her undergraduate training from Calcutta (India). She then migrated to the UK in 2003 for postgraduate training. Initially trained in Southampton & Isle of Wight in Hospital Medicine for three years. After this she came to the Northeast in august 2006 to start her GP training with the Northern Deanery. She completed her training in 2010 and since then has worked at a few practices in Gateshead & Middlesbrough before joining Marsh House Medical Centre as a partner in April 2012. Her clinical interests are in sexual health & minor surgery is our practice lead for Contraception & CVD . She also teaches Year three Medical students who are attached to our surgery. She Lives locally with her husband and two children. She tries to keep herself fit and enjoys exercising and cooking.

Nurses

Our Practice nursing team provide a variety of treatment room services, including dressings, removal of sutures, ear syringing, cervical smear tests, vaccinations including childhood immunisations and general health advice. The Practice nurses also run chronic disease management clinics such as Asthma, COPD and Diabetes.

LINDA AVEYARD

SRN, SCM, Cert Ed, Diploma Diabetes in Primary Care

Linda began her NHS career in 1976, training in Hartlepool to become a qualified midwife in 1981. She enjoyed working as a midwife for ten years before taking on the role of Practice Nurse at Marsh House in 1990. Linda is the Diabetic lead for the practice.

RACHEL DIXON

RN, Diplomas in Asthma, COPD, CHD, CVD. ARTP registered

Rachel began her nursing career in 1991 and worked mainly in General Medicine at North Tees hospital. She joined Marsh House in 2005 and gained her Diploma in Asthma/COPD. She specialises in compression bandaging/dressings. Rachel also has qualifications in health promotion, teaching and assessing in clinical practice and a diploma in professional studies.

JILL SALVIN

RN, Diploma in Diabetes Management

Jill began her nursing training in 2001 and qualified in 2004. She the commenced her nursing career at North Durham Hospital working in the Gynaecology and Intensive Care units. She joined the Marsh House team in 2013 as a practice nurse and has since gained a diploma in diabetes management.

Healthcare Assistants

HELEN WATTS

NVQ 3 in general health care support, UCPD in health, social, diagnostic and therapeutic support.

Helen began her NHS career in 2005 working in the Elderly Care, Gynaecology and Surgical departments. She has gained a Technical certificate in Care along with key skills certificates, NVQs and a UCPD from Teesside university. She joined Marsh House in 2015 and is responsible for treatment room services and assisting in minor surgery.

Practice Management

EILEEN COLLINGWOOD

Eileen started her working life with HMRC in 1973. She took time off to have a family and started her NHS career with Marsh House as a receptionist in 1992. She became Reception Supervisor in 2000 and then took over her current role as Practice Manager in 2004.

Community Midwives

Provide care for mothers before, during and after delivery. They also care for the baby in the first ten days of life.

District Nurses

Offer support and help for the elderly, the chronic and terminally ill. The District Nurses carry out home visits to patients who are housebound and require nursing care.

Health Visitors

Are available for consultation regarding children aged 0-5 and their families.
